The IRMS (Information and Records Management Society) (formerly known as the Records Management Society) was established in 1983 as the primary professional association for records managers in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Its goals are to advance understanding of good governance in the administration of information and records generated throughout the course of any organization’s commercial activities, regardless of media, and to encourage fellowship and cooperation among persons working in the field.
